Little Red Riding Hood Cast - Part 2

Vera Causa Opera is proud to announce four more cast members for our February production of Little Red Riding Hood by Dylan Langan.

Alex Morrison as the Narrator

Alex Morrison, 23, new to acting and interested in exploring narration and story telling.

Tamas Sandor as Little Red Riding Hood’s Dad

Tamas Sandor is a Hamilton native, now living in Cambridge, who has been part of the classical music scene in Hamilton and the surrounding area for a number of years. Tamas spent eleven years as part of the chorus for Opera Hamilton performing in many well known operas from the Barber of Seville to the Pearl Fishers. Mr. Sandor is a full time high school drama and English teacher, a profession he greatly enjoys. Tamas is very happy to be part of the Vera Causa Opera’s production of Little Red Riding Hood. Special thanks goes out to all his friends and family for their years of love and support.

Daniela Agostino as the Huntress

Toronto native Daniela Agostino holds a master’s in Performance and Literature at Western University, under the tutelage of Jackalyn Short. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Voice Performance from the same institution. Daniela has enjoyed many performance highlights during her studies at Western University, including Gretel from Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel (UWOpera 2015), and First Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (UWOpera 2017). Most recently she appeared in Toronto Operetta Theatre’s production of Candide, as well as performing in concerts with the company. Other performance credits include Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni (AEDO 2017), Vittoria in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Gondoliers (Opera NUOVA 2016), and the Turnspit in Dvořák's Rusalka (Halifax Summer Opera Festival 2014). Daniela is also a winner of the London Opera Guild's scholarships of 2016. She now studies under the tutelage of soprano Nathalie Paulin, and coaches with Trevor Chartrand.

Rachel Vandezande as the Grandmother

Mezzo-soprano Rachel Vandezande is finishing her fourth year studying voice at Wilfrid Laurier University under the direction of Brandon Leis. Throughout her studies she has performed in multiple theatrical productions, including a Midsummer Night’s Dream and the Teeny Tiny Music Show as well as competed in the Laurier Concerto Competition. In addition to her classical training, she is a trained jazz vocalist who has performed in Toronto with jazz combos and a cappella quartets. Currently she is the lead alto at St. John’s church in Waterloo Ontario.
